What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
You directly provide us with most of the data we collect.
We collect data and process data when you:

- Enroll for an online course.
- Voluntarily complete a customer survey, provide feedback or via email.
We collect your data so that we can:
- Process your application or request.
- Manage your account.
- Email you about courses and services we think you might like.
- Request donations.
We securely store your data on a protected computer which we have access to.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Third-party cookies are placed by Facebook, and LinkedIn and more information about them can be found by consulting these third parties’ privacy policies, which you can access by clicking each third party’s name in this paragraph.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Who we share your data with
We will never sell your personal data. We will not share your personal data with any third parties without your prior consent (which you are free to withhold) except where we are required to do so by law or outlined below.
Information from Your Mobile or Tablet Device. If you access our Site through your mobile or tablet device, we may automatically collect certain information from or about your mobile or tablet device. The types of information we may collect include the type of device you use, your device’s unique ID, the IP address of your device, your device’s operating system, the type of mobile or tablet Internet browsers you use, and information about the way you use our mobile or tablet application.
More About IP Addresses. Your IP address is the identifier assigned to your particular computer when you access the Internet. Depending on how you connect to the Internet, your IP address may always be the same, or it may change each time you access the Internet. IP addresses do not include your name, email address or other personal information, but in some cases, they can be used to identify you. If we suspect inappropriate or criminal activity or a threat to our Site or their users, we may also share our server logs—which contain users’ IP addresses—with the appropriate investigative authorities, who could use that information to trace and identify individuals.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
If you register to be a student or fill out an online application to be a volunteer then we may retain your information indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up requests for information by either you, a prospective employer, or our administrators of this organization. For example. If you register to be a student and complete the course work receiving a certification, and then later a potential employer conducting a reference check that you provided wants us to verify that you have completed the program, your file would be automatically accessed to confirm completion or not.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
We may pass your personal data to or through GDPR Compliant third party software or plugins for the purposes of providing services to you on our behalf. We do this for the purpose of our legitimate interests in operating our business.
These plugins and software may or may not include:
- Google Analytics
- Contact Form 7
- Tutor LMS
- UpdraftPlus Backup and Restore
- ReCaptcha v2 for Contact Form 7

How we protect your data
We have an SSL certificate. SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer, a global standard security technology that enables encrypted communication between a web browser and a web server. This security measure helps protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the data under our control. When the website is accessed using Internet Explorer version 11 or higher, or a comparable internet browser, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology protects information using both server authentication and data encryption to help ensure that the data are safe, secure, and available only to you.
We also apply software updates regularly to the website and plugins. Software companies often release updates that patch bugs and vulnerabilities when they are discovered.
We have protected passwords and strive to keep them safe.
What data breach procedures we have in place
We maintain reasonable administrative, physical and technical measures to protect the confidentiality and security of your personal information. Unfortunately, no website is completely secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that your personal information will not be disclosed, misused or lost by accident or by the unauthorized acts of others.
If we become aware of a data breach involving your information, then we will notify affected individuals of the unauthorized acquisition of their personal information as quickly as possible, unless there are specific circumstances that notification be delayed for law enforcement purposes.
What third parties we receive data from
When you fill out an online application to become a volunteer or participant, we ask you to provide certain personal information, including your:
- Email address
- Job title & the organization you work for
- Telephone number
By completing the form and ticking the relevant boxes you are providing your consent for an online third party criminal background check to process this personal data, and this is the legal basis we are relying on to do so. Your information will be stored by a third party data processor; and stored in their data file or Cloud system, whose servers are located in the United States. They will send relevant information pertaining to a Criminal Background check to our organization.
What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data
We do not use automated decision-making. Regarding profiling, we use the tracking tool Google Analytics. For further information about our use of Google Analytics see https://www.google.com/policies/privacy.

With Third-Party Social Media Platforms.
We may provide functionality on our Site that allows you to automatically post information to a third-party social media platform (such as Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest). If you choose to take advantage of this functionality, people with access to your profile on the third-party platform will be able to see your post. Thus, you should have no expectation of privacy in those actions. Further, if you choose to link your profile on our Site with an account on a third-party social media platform, we may share the information in your profile with that third-party platform. We may also use third-party social media platforms to offer you interest-based ads. To offer such ads, we may convert your email address into a unique value which can be matched by our affiliates and non-affiliates with a user on their platform. Although we do not provide any personal information to these platform vendors, they may gain insights about individuals who respond to the ads we serve.
Compliance with Laws and Protection of Our Rights and the Rights of Others.

We may also disclose your personal information to prevent or investigate a possible crime, such as fraud or identity theft; to protect the security of this Site; to enforce or apply our Terms and Conditions or other agreements; or to protect our own rights or property or the rights, property or safety of our users or others.
