Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

We also use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity, and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage for Christian Men’s Job Corps. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.

Who we share your data with

We will never sell your personal data. We will not share your personal data with any third parties without your prior consent (which you are free to withhold) except where we are required to do so by law or outlined below.

We need to inform you that when you interact with us through the Site or use our Services, or otherwise use or visit the Site, we may collect personal information, that is, information that identifies you personally, alone or in combination with other information available to us. For example, we may collect your name, contact information, and date of birth. In certain instances, you may provide personal information to us directly or have the choice to provide such information. For example, you may submit personal information to us through a form on this Site and consent to receive communication from us. Consent to receive communications is required to submit a form. Not all data fields in a form are required, but fields necessary for us to provide certain services or assistance are mandatory. We may also automatically collect information as you use our Site through the use of cookies or other technology.

Information from Your Mobile or Tablet Device. If you access our Site through your mobile or tablet device, we may automatically collect certain information from or about your mobile or tablet device. The types of information we may collect include the type of device you use, your device’s unique ID, the IP address of your device, your device’s operating system, the type of mobile or tablet Internet browsers you use, and information about the way you use our mobile or tablet application.

More About IP Addresses. Your IP address is the identifier assigned to your particular computer when you access the Internet. Depending on how you connect to the Internet, your IP address may always be the same, or it may change each time you access the Internet. IP addresses do not include your name, email address or other personal information, but in some cases, they can be used to identify you. If we suspect inappropriate or criminal activity or a threat to our Site or their users, we may also share our server logs—which contain users’ IP addresses—with the appropriate investigative authorities, who could use that information to trace and identify individuals.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

If you register to be a student or fill out an online application to be a volunteer then we may retain your information indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up requests for information by either you, a prospective employer, or our administrators of this organization. For example. If you register to be a student and complete the course work receiving a certification, and then later a potential employer conducting a reference check that you provided wants us to verify that you have completed the program, your file would be automatically accessed to confirm completion or not.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

We may pass your personal data to or through GDPR Compliant third party software or plugins for the purposes of providing services to you on our behalf. We do this for the purpose of our legitimate interests in operating our business.

Additional information

How we protect your data

We have an SSL certificate. SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer, a global standard security technology that enables encrypted communication between a web browser and a web server. This security measure helps protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the data under our control. When the website is accessed using Internet Explorer version 11 or higher, or a comparable internet browser, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology protects information using both server authentication and data encryption to help ensure that the data are safe, secure, and available only to you.

We also apply software updates regularly to the website and plugins. Software companies often release updates that patch bugs and vulnerabilities when they are discovered.

We have protected passwords and strive to keep them safe.

What data breach procedures we have in place

We maintain reasonable administrative, physical and technical measures to protect the confidentiality and security of your personal information. Unfortunately, no website is completely secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that your personal information will not be disclosed, misused or lost by accident or by the unauthorized acts of others.

If we become aware of a data breach involving your information, then we will notify affected individuals of the unauthorized acquisition of their personal information as quickly as possible, unless there are specific circumstances that notification be delayed for law enforcement purposes.

What third parties we receive data from

When you fill out an online application to become a volunteer or participant, we ask you to provide certain personal information, including your:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Job title & the organization you work for
  • Telephone number

By completing the form and ticking the relevant boxes you are providing your consent for an online third party criminal background check to process this personal data, and this is the legal basis we are relying on to do so. Your information will be stored by a third party data processor; and stored in their data file or Cloud system, whose servers are located in the United States. They will send relevant information pertaining to a Criminal Background check to our organization.

What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data

We do not use automated decision-making. Regarding profiling, we use the tracking tool Google Analytics. For further information about our use of Google Analytics see https://www.google.com/policies/privacy.

Industry regulatory disclosure requirements

YouTube is a third party platform that we use regularly on this site. To view their privacy policy see https://www.youtube.com/about/policies/#community-guidelines.

With Third-Party Social Media Platforms.

We may provide functionality on our Site that allows you to automatically post information to a third-party social media platform (such as Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest). If you choose to take advantage of this functionality, people with access to your profile on the third-party platform will be able to see your post. Thus, you should have no expectation of privacy in those actions. Further, if you choose to link your profile on our Site with an account on a third-party social media platform, we may share the information in your profile with that third-party platform. We may also use third-party social media platforms to offer you interest-based ads. To offer such ads, we may convert your email address into a unique value which can be matched by our affiliates and non-affiliates with a user on their platform. Although we do not provide any personal information to these platform vendors, they may gain insights about individuals who respond to the ads we serve.

Compliance with Laws and Protection of Our Rights and the Rights of Others.

We may disclose your personal information when we, in good faith, believe disclosure is appropriate to comply with the law, a court order or a subpoena. We may also disclose your personal information to prevent or investigate a possible crime, such as fraud or identity theft; to protect the security of this Site; to enforce or apply our Terms and Conditions or other agreements; or to protect our own rights or property or the rights, property or safety of our users or others.
